The Lost Puddle Jumper is built for surfers who want to get more out of poor surf conditions without sacrificing maneuverability and performance which usually comes along with a wide groveler.

If you’re tired of lugging around a longboard—or riding a performance shortboard that just won’t carry speed on weak days—the Puddle Jumper fills the gap.

Fast, easy to surf, and will level up your surfing when waves are less than stellar

The Shape

The Puddle Jumper features a wide, forgiving outline with plenty of foam pushed forward into the nose for paddle power and early entry into waves.

The full nose helps the board plane quickly, while the relatively pulled-in squash tail keeps it responsive and controlled through turns.

A low, relaxed rocker allows the board to carry speed across flat sections, making it ideal for surfers who want flow and drive without having to force it.

To be honest, one of my favorite features of the board is the refined rails. For such a short, stubby board you’d expect a boxy/full rail. However, Matt Bilos tweaked the file to foil out the rails a bit - giving the rail a bit more performance and a nice thinned out tail.

This rail + tail foil is what gives the board it’s versatility when the waves start to pick up.

The Bottom

Looking at the business side, the Puddle Jumper uses a performance-driven bottom contour designed to create lift and maintain speed in weaker surf.

A subtle single entry-to-double concave helps channel water through the fins, which generates lift and speed, and in turn keeps the board lively and responsive.

This blends to a Vee out thru the tail, which gives you a bit more control of the wide tail outline.

Works really well as a quad - especially if you’re riding the board at about your height or bigger. This keeps the tail fast and loose and makes the board ride “shorter”.

If you’re riding it much shorter than your height, than you may really like it as a thruster. Control and versatility.

Generally - a pivot style fin setup works best.

The Waves

Small wave weapon ⚔️

As mentioned above, the Puddle Jumper shines in small to average surf, especially those days where the waves just lack power.

Think small beach break, 8-9 second summer windswell, and everyday East Coast conditions.

The sweet spot for the Puddle Jumper is about knee to stomach high, but it can still hold it’s own in waves up to chest/head high depending on the spot.

If you typically ride a shortboard, but want to be able to crack a couple turns in when everyone else is riding a log - this board needs a spot in your quiver.

Built in PU/Poly, Lightspeed II, and Black Sheep🤘

From the shaper:

“The Original Greatest Groveler ever…Digitally Re-Mastered”

The Puddle Jumper is a con-caved, planing surfacer speeder. Domestic bliss with a twist. Based off the outline of the Bottom Feeder, but with reversed bottom and rocker curves. This board, unlike the past Domestic models (like The Bottom Feeder and RV) features a concave bottom that transitions to vee in the tail. The wide outline makes for easy wave catching and down the line glide and stability. The concave bottom adds lift and increased rail curve, which allows radical top to bottom surfing. The straight rail line and vee in the tail keep the board moving forward and hold in during hard carving maneuvers. “This is the most excited I have ever been about a small wave surfboard. Personally, it’s the best small wave board I have ever ridden. I have never made a claim like that about any board before” – Matt Biolos
