The Lost RNF96 is a staff favorite here at Warm Winds.

Ideal for any surfer looking for speed, flow, and forgiveness with a side of performance.

Perfect for intermediate surfers looking for a bit more foam over a traditional shortboard, as well as experienced surfers who want a fast, playful board for small/everyday waves.

If you like surfing with momentum, drawing smooth lines, and making average conditions fun, the RNF should have a spot in your quiver.

The Shape

The magic is in the outline.

The round nose gives the board extra surface area up front, helping with paddle power and glide, especially in weaker surf. It feels forgiving when taking off and stable under the chest.

The wide point sits forward, which keeps the board fast and responsive even at lower speeds.

Through the tail, the RNF narrows into a swallow tail. This keeps the board loose and skatey while still offering bite and control when you push harder through turns.

Rocker is pretty mellow overall: Low entry rocker for speed and easy paddling. Subtle, but functional, tail rocker allowing the board to turn without killing speed.

The result is a board that loves staying in the pocket but doesn’t feel sticky or slow when things flatten out.

The Bottom

The bottom contours of the Lost RNF are designed for speed and smooth transitions.

It typically features a single concave under the front foot, blending into a double concave through the fins. This setup helps channel water efficiently, creating lift and drive while keeping the board responsive rail to rail.

The RNF is most commonly ridden as a twin+1, especially in small to average surf. This setup gives you some great speed while offering a bit of pivot off the center nub. Ideally, the MR twin.

If you plan to surf the RNF when waves pick up, it actually works really well as a thruster.

The Waves

The Lost RNF96 shines in small to mid-sized surf, we’ll call the sweet spot thigh to chest high, but can be pushed even bigger with the right fins.

Works in a wide variety of waves given it’s outline, working just as well in lined up points as it does in peaky beach break. It loves softer take offs and open faces where you can generate some speed.

The RNF turns those average days into memorable sessions.
