Log Days of Summer 2025
Top 5 logs for 2025

LOG DAYS of summer are back here in the Ocean State.

We all know the deal - summertime in Rhode Island isn’t exactly known for it's pumping surf (aside from that occasional early season hurricane). But that doesn’t mean you just hang up the wetsuit and wait for fall.

It's log season, baby. The water’s warm, the vibes are high, and the waves are just begging for some smooth, drawn-out lines.

When it’s 80 degress, knee-high and glassy, there’s no better way to keep the stoke alive than grabbing a longboard and making the most of every little bump that rolls through.

We rounded up 5 of our favorite longboards in the shop right now—boards that’ll have you trimming, noseriding, and grinning ear to ear through every small summer bump that comes through.

Let’s dive in.

1. Bing Continental

Shaper: Matt Calvani

Encinitas, CA, USA

The Bing Continental is a high-performance noserider designed by Matt Calvani in collaboration with pro rider Mick Rodgers, striking a balance between classic trim and modern responsiveness. It features a broad, parallel outline, generous nose rocker, and a blended concave cutting through the middle, with a flatter mid-section and a rockered tail that helps with pivot.

Built with pinched rails for wave-face grip, it locks into nose rides easily, holds lift on steep sections, and transitions smoothly when the wave flattens—letting you backstep with ease. Glowing reviews from everyone that’s ridden one!

2. CJ Nelson Slasher Lo Pro

Shaper: Thunderbolt Surfboards

 Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan

The Slasher Low Pro is a performance log that blends classic noserider finesse with modern agility. Developed by CJ Nelson and Ian Chisholm, it features a concave nose for lift, a unique hip in the tail for tight pivoting and whip, a low rail for performance, and a modernized squash tail with a fair bit of tail rocker for speed and control in knee‑to‑head high wave. Built with Thunderbolt tech = durable and responsive. CJ Nelson says it’s “addictive to ride … almost unbelievable”.

3. COS Chingona

Shaper: Tony Iannarone

Jacksonville, FL, USA

The Clean Ocean Surfboards Chingona has been gaining traction over the last several years among some the best longboarders along the East Coast. An (almost square) nose along with an extra wide tail block, the Chingona excels in small surf and makes getting to the nose easy.

Tony’s craftsmanship is right up there with the best shapers in the world - and you feel that immediately when you get it under your arm! Couldn't be more stoked to be the only shop in Rhode Island carrying his boards.

4. Valaric Captains Log

Shaper: Jordan Brazie

Virginia, USA

Jordan Brazie is one an East Coast heavyweight when it comes to shaping surfboards. Specializing in shaping traditional surf crafts with a modern take, Jordans shapes are all about keeping the soul + fun in surfing.

His #1 longboard, The Captains Log, is a traditional all around noserider that will fit your cruising needs. Wide nose and flat entry rocker make for easy paddling, plus a wide + stable square tail to help hold the board in place while you move around.

Generous nose concave to provide lift and keep you locked in when your spending time on the nose. This board will have you frothing to paddle out on those summer time knee high days!

5. Woodin One Love

Shaper: Kurtis Woodin

Oceanside, CA, USA

This ones is back on our list for a second straight year, and for good reason. The One Love is a modernized noserider with a pulled in squash tail to add a bit of performance ( paired with a nice + thinned out rail).

I like to say this is the perfect log for either shortboarders that are looking for a good all around noserider, or an experienced longboarder looking for that familiar feel with a bit more control off the tail. Aesthetically, these are always some of the most beautiful boards we have in the boardroom. Kurtis has a great eye!
