Warm Winds started as a small backyard surfboard brand back in 1973 in RI and has evolved into a one-stop shop for surfers and ocean enthusiasts. With hundreds of surfboards in stock all the time, a full wetsuit inventory, and all of the biggest clothing lines in the surf industry - Warm Winds has become a staple East Coast surf shop.
Warm Winds is currently looking for a Senior Apparel Buyer to fill a full time opening. We are looking for a motivated individual who is passionate about surf lifestyle fashion.
Responsibilities
As a senior apparel buyer at Warm Winds, you will:
- Attend trade shows
- Manage vendor negotiations, on-boarding and brand set up processes
- Negotiate order terms; dating, discounts, freight allowances, etc.
- Manage inventory and open-to-buy for key brands, product categories and products
- Analyze sales and provide relevant data points to administrative team for business development needs
- Achieve sales performance targets
Qualifications
- 2+ years of work experience in retail merchandising or business development roles
- E-commerce background preferred but not necessary
- Academic background in TMD, Business, Mathematics preferred but not necessary
- Solid organizational skills and attention to detail
- Possess commercial awareness and demonstrate advanced business acumen
- Quick learner, self-motivated, work well under pressure
- Retail experience preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (proficiency in Excel is a must)
- Experience with SAP, NetSuite, MS Dynamics or comparable ERP software preferred
- Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in mathematical / quantitative analysis
- Ability to perform under pressure, prioritizes competing tasks, and schedules time wisely
